WHO IS YOUR DAVE?
Someone you love. Someone you remember. Someone you haven't met yet.
More than 1 in 5 American adults experiences mental illness each year. But this is more than a statistic. It's about people we love, families facing unimaginable challenges and lives shaped by heartbreak, resilience and hope. Mental illness touches our mothers, fathers, sisters, sons, daughters and friends. Its impact reaches far beyond the individual, affecting the people who love them, care for them and stand beside them.
At this year's Dave's House Party, speakers answered the question "Who Is Your Dave?" sharing deeply personal stories of love, heartbreak, loss and hope. We heard about mothers, brothers, sons and friends. Different stories, but a shared understanding of how mental illness can change a life, shape a family and leave a lasting impact on everyone who cares.
We asked everyone whose life had been touched by mental illness to stand. Every single person in the room stood up.
It was a powerful reminder that mental illness touches more lives than we often realize, and that none of us is alone in that experience. For more than 17 years, Dave's House has been opening doors for adults living with serious mental illness, providing permanent supportive housing and access to ongoing services that help people remain stable and thrive. And there is so much more to do.
As we wrap up 2026, we're asking you Who Is Your Dave? Maybe it's someone you love. Someone you remember. Or maybe you haven't met your Dave yet. You simply believe everyone deserves a place to call home and the support to thrive. This holiday season, we invite you to help fuel the vision for what's next. Your year-end gift supports the Dave's House mission, helping us continue opening doors and reaching more adults living with serious mental illness.
Whoever your Dave may be, you can make a difference.
